The main responsibility of the Staff Selection Commission is to make recruitment to Group C (non-technical) & Group B (non-gazetted- both technical & non-technical) posts in departments of Government of India, its attached & subordinate offices except those for which recruitment is made by the Railway Recruitment Boards & Industrial Establishments.

Surveillance Assistants : 40 posts (UR-22, OBC-10, SC-5,ST-3),
Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs. 5200 - 20200 plus Grade Pay Rs.2400/-,
Age : 27 years

Technical Assistant : 02 posts (UR-1, OBC-1),
Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs. 5200-20200 plus Grade Pay Rs.2800/-,
Age : 30 years

Instructor (Seamanship & Navigation : 01 post (OBC),
Pay Scale : PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs.4200/-,
Age : 30 years

Bosun (Certified) : 01 post (UR),
Pay Scale : PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs. 4200/-,
