IRCON International Ltd ( IRCON ) is an Indian government owned company incorporated under the Companies act 1956, on 28th April 1976, under the Indian Railway Construction Company Limited. It was registerd as a private limited company whose shares wholly owned by the Ministry of Railway. It had been created mainly for the purpose of construction of Railway Projects in India and abroad. The Company has since diversified and grown under the change name of "Ircon International Limited" w.e.f. October 1995 in tune with the international image and scope of operations of the Company. The core competence areas of operation of the Company in order of priority are - Railway, Highway and EHT Substation Engineering and Construction.
