Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (abbreviated CBSE) is a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Central Government of India.
The first education board to be set up in India was the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education in 1921, which was under jurisdiction of Rajputana, Central India and Gwalior. In 1929 the government of India set up a joint Board named "Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana". This included Ajmer, Merwara, Central India and Gwalior.
Later it was confined to Ajmer, Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh. In 1952, it became the "Central Board of Secondary Education".

1) Apply Online from 8 April 2011 (8-4-2011)
2) Sale of CTET Bulletin and Application Form - 20 April 2011 to 10 May 2011
3) Last date for submission of application form - 15 May 2011 (both online and offline)
4) Date of Exam: 26 June 2011 (26-6-2011) - 1. Paper I - 9.30 - 11 am, 2. Paper II - 12.30 pm to 2 pm
