UPSC Forest Service Examination 2011

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a constitutional body in the Republic of India. The commission is authorized to conduct examinations for appointment to the various Civil Services of India.

The Indian Constitution (Part XIV - Services Under the Union and the states - article no. 315 to 323) provides for a Public Service Commission for the union and a Public Service Commission for each state.

The Chairman and other members of the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) are appointed by the President of India. At least half of the members of the Commission are Civil Servants (working or retired) with minimum ten years of experience either in Central or State service.

INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION (IFS) , 2011

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Indian Forest Service Examination 2011 for recruitment to the Indian Forest Service Officers commencing from 9th July 2011.

Eligibility:
Age : Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 1st July, 2011. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree of any recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botonoy, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
